DIY Sound Objects
DIY Sound Objects

led by Andreas Muxel (AT/DE)
13-15.09.2011, 11:00 to 18:00, Studio 28, NAA, 1 Shipka str.

We will work with the Arduino board to get an introduction to the world of sensors and actuators. Generally sensors can be used to measure certain physical or chemical properties of our environment. With the help of the Arduino board this data can be translated into the behaviour of connected actuators (light emitting diodes, motors, speakers etc.).

By using low-tech sensors and actuator technology autonomous sound objects will be developed which react to their environment. The participants will learn fundamental basics in electronics and how to use the Arduino environment to bring their sound objects to life. Break the shackles to your creativity from hacking existing sound toys to constructing mechanical sound generators.

Prepared hardware and code examples will be used to develop first experiments with the material, therefore programming skills are not needed when participating in the workshop.

The number of participants is limited to 12 people.

Participants must bring their own laptops.
